Home About Us Our Fitness Philosophy

Our fitness philosophy is exemplified in the name of our fitness club brand - “5″

The philosophy is simple – Everyone comes to the health club / gym with his or her individual goal in mind. It is up to us as responsible fitness professionals to educate them about the following fact:

Improvements in fitness levels are required for one thing & one thing alone & that is to function better in day to day life. You can achieve this through the 5 Fitness Lifestyle which will never allow the body to give in to the degenerative forces of the aging process leading to declining levels of functionality. Nor will it allow the body to be exposed to the risk of injuries. It will also prevent illnesses arising out of adverse metabolic conditions such as hypertension, improper sugar metabolism and bad lipid profiles.

The above universal goal of all humans can only be achieved by attending to all 5 components of fitness equally. The 5 components of overall general fitness are:

Cardiovascular Endurance Cardiovascular Endurance

Muscular Endurance Muscular Endurance

Musculoskeletal Strength Musculoskeletal Strength

Flexibility Flexibility

Ideal Body Composition Body Composition

To improve performance in all aspects of day to day life including playing sports, you need to improve on all 5 components. But a decrease in performance can result from a decline in any one of the 5 components.

No human can be deemed a fit individual if even one of the above components is compromised.

This philosophy is applicable to regular people as well as competitive athletes. It is an all-pervasive philosophy encompassing the whole of mankind.

At K11, exercise programming is done in accordance with strict scientific guidelines that encompass all the components of fitness. Specific exercises are chosen or excluded based on their relative contributions (or lack there of) to functionality, afterburn (Increase in BMR) & them being Kinesiologically correct or incorresct.

At K11 we give equal importance to exercise & diet. Exercise is only the stimulus that creates a need in the body to get fitter. The actual training effect of the body becoming fitter happens only if the correct raw materials are provided through a well-structured diet designed on sports nutrition guidelines & a well structured program that emphasizes proper recovery between workouts.
